What We Do

More than
grant writing.

Most EIC applications fail not because the innovation is weak — but because the narrative does not speak the language European evaluators respond to. NFI combines scientific depth, EU policy fluency, and strategic framing to build applications that hold up under panel scrutiny.

We work as a subcontractor with Inspiralia — one of Europe's leading EIC Accelerator consultancies — bringing PhD-level sustainability expertise and narrative strategy to every application we support.

End-to-End Application Support

Core Service

Application Writing & Narrative Strategy

Full application writing — business plan, innovation narrative, impact section, and financial projections — aligned to EIC evaluation criteria. We frame your innovation in the language evaluators score highly: strategic necessity, European relevance, and commercial potential.

DNSH Sustainability Alignment

Every EIC application requires Do No Significant Harm analysis. NFI's PhD-level sustainability expertise makes this a genuine strength, not an afterthought.

Ongoing

Refinement & Resubmission

EIC funding is a process, not a single attempt. NFI supports the review and resubmission cycle — incorporating evaluator feedback to strengthen each subsequent application.

Key Questions

About the EIC Accelerator

What is the EIC Accelerator? +
The EIC Accelerator is the flagship funding instrument under Horizon Europe for deep tech startups and SMEs. It provides up to €2.5M in non-dilutive grant funding (at 70% funding rate) and up to €15M in equity investment from the EIC Fund — a total package of up to €17.5M in blended finance.
Who is eligible to apply? +
SMEs and startups established in EU member states or associated countries. The venture must have a high-risk, high-impact innovation — typically at TRL 5–8 — with a clear path to market disruption and strong commercial potential. The application must demonstrate that private financing alone is insufficient (the "non-bankability" criterion).
What does the DNSH requirement mean for my application? +
Every EIC Accelerator application must demonstrate that the innovation Does No Significant Harm to environmental objectives under the EU taxonomy. This is not optional — it is a mandatory compliance criterion. NFI's sustainability expertise means this section is handled with genuine scientific depth, not a generic checklist.
What are the main reasons applications are rejected? +
The most common reasons: weak commercial narrative (innovation is technically strong but lacks a convincing market argument), insufficient demonstration of European strategic relevance, weak financial projections, and poor alignment between the innovation stage and EIC criteria. NFI addresses all four in the application writing process.
How does NFI work with Inspiralia? +
NFI operates as a specialist subcontractor to Inspiralia — one of Europe's most established EIC Accelerator consultancies. Saleh Alda leads the narrative strategy, sustainability alignment, and application writing. This collaboration combines Inspiralia's institutional reach with NFI's scientific and strategic depth.
